How to Calculate UET GPA & CGPA

Calculating your GPA manually can be complex. Here is the official method used by UET to determine your academic standings:

1. Understand the UET Grade Points

Every letter grade you earn carries specific weightage points defined by UET policy (e.g., A = 4.00, A- = 3.70, B+ = 3.30, B = 3.00, B- = 2.70, etc.).

2. Calculate Quality Points

Multiply the Credit Hours (CH) of a particular subject by the Grade Points earned in that subject.

Example: If a course is 3 Credit Hours and you score a B+ (3.30), the Quality Points for this course = 3 × 3.30 = 9.9.

3. Semester GPA Formula

Sum up all the Quality Points earned in that semester and divide them by the Total Credit Hours registered.

GPA = Total Quality Points / Total Credit Hours

4. Cumulative CGPA Formula

To find your cumulative score, add up the total quality points across all completed semesters and divide by the total accumulated credit hours of your entire degree.

CGPA = Sum of All Quality Points / Total Cumulative Credit Hours
